What is Canadian Experience Class Immigration Program ?

Canadian Experience Class Immigration Program abbreviated as CEC, this is also an Express Entry Program for immigration to Canada and has been devised for foreign workers who have been living and working in Canada and who now desire to become permanent citizens of Canada.

The most eligible candidates for this category are the temporary foreign skilled workers who already have experience of working in Canada. These people have already contributed to the growth of the Canadian economy.

They have developed stronger networks in their work communities and are now a part of the society. The Canadian government believes that such candidates hold every right to be permanent citizens of Canada.

The students who came to Canada for some educational program completed their graduation from a post-secondary Canadian institute and got the job in Canada after the course completion are also eligible for immigration to Canada via CEC.

For Immigrated Student :

However, the students must note that any part-time job or work experience that a student attained during his study curriculum does not count as a valid experience for the application to be accepted under the CEC program.

Any work done in the form of an unpaid internship will also not be considered under the pre-requisites of work experience in this program.

To be eligible, the candidate must have work experience from a job that he joined after completing his graduation. Also, the candidate must possess a valid work permit for the duration of his job else his work experience will not be counted.

Eligibility For CEC Immigration Program:

Those candidates who are eligible and wish to apply for immigration via the CEC program(Canadian Experience Class Immigration Program) must show an expression of interest, create their online express entry profiles and also have an invitation to apply to be permanent residents of Canada.

Following is a list of the bare minimum requirements for CEC program eligibility. The candidate must :

a) Possess at least a year of skilled, professional or technical Canadian work experience within 36 months of the application date; and

b) Achieve a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 5 (“initial intermediate”) or 7 (“adequate intermediate proficiency”), from the level of the job; and
